Proper nutrition is vital for young guinea pigs in their first year of life. Cavy Origins Junior is veterinary formulated with essential vitamins, minerals, protein and amino acids to support their growth and lifelong health. It also includes functional ingredients for targeted support:

• Omega long-chain fatty acids – DHA and EPA for brain, retinal and immune system development.
• Pre and postbiotics for optimal gut health and development.
• Stabilised vitamin C, essential for guinea pigs.

To support the demands of development, young guinea pigs should have unlimited access to Cavy Origins Junior from weaning until 6 months of age. In addition, quality high-protein hay should be made readily available during this time. You can also provide a small amount of healthy treats such as fresh fruits, vegetables and Vetafarm’s Herbivore Harvest DeliStix.

Once matured, guinea pigs should be transitioned onto Origins Cavy Adult with a measured amount of formulated food made available daily to prevent obesity.

General feeding directions for most senior guinea pigs: 20% Pellets, 75% Lucerne Hay, 5% Treats.
