Taming and Bonding

Guinea pigs are prey animals so by nature are quite timid and shy. However, with a lot of patience, love and effort you can help build your piggy's confidence and, in time, you'll find they can become extremely affectionate and fond of you!

We have the piggies home, can we start cudding them?

Once you have your piggies home, let them settle into their new surroundings for a few days without picking them up or holding them. This is important as to not overstress them, so resist the urge just for a few days so they can settle!

After a few days, you can gradually start interacting with your pets more to start developing that very special bond between hooman and floof! Simply put, the more calm and gentle interaction you can invest, the quicker your pet will associate you as part of their 'safe space'.
